Source-to-Pay (S2P) extends the P2P cycle upstream to include strategic sourcing. It covers the full procurement lifecycle from identifying a need for a new supplier or contract through to payment.
S2P vs P2P
While P2P focuses on transactional purchasing (requisition to payment), S2P adds strategic activities: market analysis, supplier identification, RFP/RFQ processes, evaluation, negotiation, and contract management. S2P platforms like SAP Ariba, Jaggaer, and Ivalua cover both.
